SPAN-CPT is a powerful single enclosure, tightly-coupled GPS/INS receiver. SPAN-CPT integrates OEMV3 GNSS precision receiver technology with fiber optic gyro and MEMS accelerometer inertial components from KVH Industries all in one compact unit.

The tight-coupling of the GPS and INS technologies within SPAN-CPT optimizes the raw GPS and IMU data, delivering a superior position, velocity and attitude solution. Comprised entirely of commercial components, SPAN-CPT has no special export restrictions, minimizing the operational complexities for customers whose products cross international boundaries. This product extends the SPAN portfolio into markets that have been difficult to penetrate with standard two-box GPS/INS solutions, due to high price or complex export controls.

The unique manner in which NovAtel couples the GPS and INS technologies provides a significant advantage over the competition. In most GPS/INS systems, GPS data is used to aid the INS, to control the errors in the INS. With SPAN-CPT, as with all NovAtel SPAN products, the INS data aids the GPS as well. This tight-coupling of the two technologies enables continuous robust positioning in challenging navigation environments where GPS signals are unreliable or unavailable for short periods of time. SPAN-CPT also supports standard SPAN technology features including L-Band corrections, dual-frequency RTK, and NovAtel’s patented PAC correlator technology.

FlexPak-V

NovAtel's FlexPak supports the powerful OEMV-1 and OEMV-2 series of GNSS engines in a rugged and compact enclosure. The FlexPak provides choice in price/performance from meter to centimeter-level accuracy and up to 20 Hz solutions. Deutsch connectors deliver communications ports and auxiliary strobe signals including PPS for time synchronisation and several event inputs. All FlexPaks are shock and dust resistant and waterproof to IPX7.

FlexPak-V2: provides GPS L2C and GLONASS L1/L2
Offers GPS and GLONASS L1 and L2 measurement data and AdVance RTK centimetre positioning that excels in challenging environments.

FlexPak-V1G: provides GPS and GLONASS L1
Offers L1 only GPS and GLONASS code or carrier phase decimetre positioning. The addition of GLONASS increases availability in obstructed sky conditions.

FlexPak-V1: provides GPS L1 with VBS and CDGPS
Offers OmniSTAR VBS and SBAS for extra precision sub-metre positioning. Can be upgraded to NovAtel RT20 L1 carrier-phase positioning.

ProPak-V3

ProPak-V3

NovAtel's ProPak-V3 is a durable, high-performance triple frequency receiver featuring 72 channels and other advanced capabilities including L1 and L2 GLONASS, L-band corrections, USB communication and SPAN Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) support.

System integrators can take advantage of the ProPak's many features to deliver powerful and cost effective systems. The ProPak-V3 can interface with and provide power to, external peripherals such as radios, inertial measurements units, sensors, cameras, equipment controllers and etc. Using the powerful Application Programming Interface (API) capability, integrators can write programs that execute on the ProPak's internal processor and have full access to precise positioning and timing data. Using this approach it is often possible to remove the need for an external embedded controller in a system by executing the mission logic right on the ProPak.

The ProPak is a future-proof platform that provides the full range of performance from meter to centimeter accuracy, GPS and GLONASS RTK and robust performance in challenging or limited visibility environments via SPAN IMU technology. With only firmware upgrades, your investment is protected into the future when the planned L5 signals become avaliable.

SPAN supports two new IMUs

NovAtel's SPAN family now supports two new IMUs – Northrup Grumman’s LN200 and iMAR GmbH’s FSAS-EI and these are available now.

These two IMUs enable NovAtel's SPAN technology to deliver higher levels of performance and relaibailty than that available with the HG1700 IMU from Honeywell which is based on ring laser gyro technology and delivers gyro bias of 1 degree per hour at a competitive price. The latest IMUs – the LN200 and the FSAS-EI – feature state-of-the-art fibre optic gyro technology that offers significantly higher MTBF, with the LN200 delivering a gyro bias of 1 degree per hour and the FSAS-EI delivering a gyro bias of 0.75 degree per hour.

All three IMUs work seamlessly with NovAtel’s SPAN Technology. The NovAtel technology advantage is a real-time tightly-coupled navigation solution with the capability for simultaneous raw data recording to post-process with its Waypoint Products Group’s Inertial Explorer software. This development provides SPAN Technology customers with more options to utilize time, position and attitude to meet a variety of airborne and land-based applications.

NovAtel's Smart-V1 Antenna is a rugged self-contained GPS receiver and antenna designed and built for harsh environments.

The Smart-V1 Antenna integrates a GPS receiver, L-band receiver and high performance antenna in an environmentally sealed enclosure designed to meet or exceed MIL-STD-810E. It features 14 channels for L1 code and phase tracking as well as 2 dedicated channels for SBAS signals (WAAS, EGNOS, MSAS) and 1 dedicated channel for L-band signals (OmniSTAR, CDGPS).

The Smart-V1 Antenna is a premium product that can provide PVT data at rates up to 20 Hz, 1-PPS signal to within 20 ns (typical) and single frequency RTK accuracy of 20 cm in real-time. It is also highly customizable via the API option that allows integrators to add custom functionality right on-board.

The Smart Antenna is also available in a low cost option featuring a SuperStar II receiver.

NovAtel's OEMV-1 products are high performance single frequency GNSS engines packaged in a small footprint and featuring low power consumption and high reliability. The OEMV-1 offers integrated L1 GPS, OmniSTAR and CDGPS while the OEMV-1G offers L1 GPS+GLONASS. Both offer an Application Programming Interface that allows for custom applications to be developed and run on the receiver.

OEMV-1G: provides L1 GPS and GLONASS and SBAS

The DL-V3 has many industry-leading features such as Bluetooth for wireless connectivity and Ethernet for remote network access, as well as a removable Compact Flash card for data security and portability.

Powered by NovAtel’s OEMV™-3 engine, the DL-V3 is capable of tracking both GPS and GLONASS, and future GPS L5, signals. It delivers sub-meter positioning using OmniSTAR® or Canada-wide Differential Global Positioning System (CDGPS) L-Band correction services. Real-time Kinematic (RTK) solutions, including NovAtel’s latest AdVance™ technology, that deliver centimeter-level positions are available for more demanding applications. The DL-V3 also features NovAtel’s patented PAC multipath mitigation technology with enhanced Vision functionality planned for future firmware updates.
