GL1DE Technology

In April 2008, NovAtel launched its new GL1DE technology which becomes the latest enhancement to NovAtel's signature OEMV® product line. GL1DE technology is ideal for agricultural guidance applications, where pass-to-pass repeatability is critical. GL1DE optimally combines L1 code and L1 phase data to produce consistent positional output for developers of guidance applications.

Users of GL1DE will experience a smooth, consistent position appropriate for both lightbar and autosteer systems. Position jumps are virtually eliminated. GL1DE improves the stability of single point (autonomous), SBAS, CDGPS and OmniStar VBS positioning modes, and delivers pass-to-pass repeatability of between 20cm to 30cm within a 15 minute interval. Users in parts of the world where a WAAS or EGNOS-type solution is not available to improve positioning stability, can use GL1DE technology to maintain a stable, usable solution over longer intervals.

GL1DE's pass-to-pass functionality is a perfect example of an enhancement we have developed to meet specific industry requirements; in this case, the agricultural industry, where it can be utilized to help farmers maximize their crop yields by significantly increasing the repeatability of their precision guidance tools.
